Khoja Berdibai Madrasah History

The abundant history of Khoja Berdibai Madrasah date back to the 17^th Century when the monument was first built in 1688 near the eastern gates of Ichan Kala. In 1834 when Allakuli Khan Madrasah was being built, this Madrasah was cardinally realigned. The city got two educational institutions, resembling the classical eastern bag – khurjum, because the foundation of old and new madrasahs was laid on various levels. The reconstructed madrasah, over time, was called in daily use "Khurjum Madrasah".
