While visiting the country don’t forget to taste some of its mouth-watering dishes. Uzbekistan shares its culinary style mostly with Turkey.

Here are few of the local Uzbek must-try dishes -

Plov - Considered as the national dish of Uzbekistan. Mostly called plov or pilaf is mostly eaten in Uzbek that is cooked with rice and lamb or beef. It is one of the most famous and delicious dishes to eat.

Shashlik - Shashlik, is another dish where the meat cooked on the grill. There are several types of meat used for this dish. You can find cubes of beef or lamb, chicken legs which are often served with grilled skewers of potatoes, mushrooms, tomatoes, and peppers.

Lagman - it is a soup and a very popular dish in Uzbekistan. The soup is a hearty noodle stew including lamb, onions, carrots, bell peppers, tomatoes, potatoes, and garlic.

Fried Lagman - you can also enjoy stir-fried Lagman noodles with pans fried peppers, onions, tomatoes paste, and other seasonal vegetables.

Shurpa - the Uzbek lamb soup with thick slices of vegetables such as carrots, potatoes, and onions.

Apart from this, you can enjoy many delicious Uzbek dishes. Most of the local famous dishes have beef or lamb in its ingredients combined with various vegetables.
