Known as one of the major squares on Bukhara squares, Architectural Ensemble Lyabi-Hauz means the shore of the reservoir. This reservoir was the largest artificial reservoir in the period of medieval Bukhara.

These are Kukeldash madrassah, Khanaka on the west and Nadir Divan-Begi madrassah on the east. The reservoir can be found in between Khanaka and madrassah.
Behind the Lyabi-khaus Square and Architectural Ensemble, there is a story related to Nadir Divan-Begi and uncle of Imam Quli Khan, the Emir of Bukhara.
Nadir Divan-Beghi Madrasah and Khanaka were built in 1622 whereas; Kukeldash Madrasah was built in 1568.
When Nadir Divan-Begi built the Khanaka near the site of the building there was a large area of old Jewish widow. When Nadir Divan-Begi decided to make a pond, the widow rejected the offer and didn't agree to sell the property.
So, Nadir Divan-Beghi brought the widow before Imam Quli Khan and the Emir of Bukhara ordered a congress of muftis to enquire the question. After discussion, the specialists in Muslim law decided
Nadir Divan-Begi dug an irrigation ditch which was leading to his new pond near her house. When the water began to flow to the foundations of the widow's house, she came to Nadir Divan-Beghi for justice. So, he confirmed to buy her house for a fair price. The widow promised to give up her property, if the ruler would give her another piece of land with the permission for building a synagogue. After that, the plot demanded by the widow was accepted and the residence of the widow now called, as the Jewish quarter.
Architectural Ensemble Lyabi-Hauz is located in the southeast of Shakhristan. This part of the city is within the walls near the main Bukhara trade street.
As one of the Tourist Attractions In Bukhara, Kukeldash Madrasah is the largest in Bukhara. The madrasah built with the light, ventilated hujras which are leading to the streets of the city by the loggias. On the first floor, there are three apartments known as aivan, housing and household apartments. In darkshona, there are four stretched decor from corner to corner for sunlight.
On the west side of famous Bukhara Sights, Laybi-khauz , Nadir Divan-begi Khanaka can be found. This khanaka is multicelled building with central cupola hall. In the corners of the building, the hudjras can be found.
Nadir Divan-begi Madrasah is on the eastern side of khauz. This building was built as caravansary in Madrasah and connected to the main facade loggias, portal and corner towers. After sometime, the second floor was built.
