Location Of Uzbekistan Deserts

As one of the major Uzbekistan Attractions, Kyzylkum Desert lies in between Amu Darya and Syr Darya River with an area of 298,000 square kilometers. Kyzylkum Desert is the largest desert among all Uzbekistan Deserts and also known as red sands. Sands, sandstone, takyrs, small residual mountains can be seen in Kyzylkum Desert. The sand massifs with the height between 3 m to 30 m in height can be found in this desert. Having a sharp continental climate, the heat of summer is unbearable while in spring and winter seasons, it rains. With a highly natural diversity, Kyzylkum is the home to the antelope-gazelle, jerboa, various kinds of ground squirrels, the tolai hare, wolf, corsac fox, lark, jay bird, bustard, steppe eagle, owls, snakes, lizards, varans and even turtles.

Located in the place of the bottom of the former Aral Sea, Aralkum Desert also got the name, Akkum, which means white desert. Due to the abundance of salt, it named as white desert. Known as one of the major Uzbekistan Attractions, this desert has a sandy saline griound. The number of plant is only 300 species of shrubs and grass. The reason of less plant is because of the huge amounts of salts, pesticides and toxic substances, in the waters of the Amu Darya and Syr Darya rivers.

Usturt plateau located in between Mangyshlak and the Bay of Kara-Bogaz-Gol in the west, the Aral Sea and the Amu Darya delta in the east is a plateau in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The total area is approximately 200,000 square kilometres and it's a desert full of clay and rock debris.
