Yunus-Khan was the khanate of Chagatai province and he was relatives to Timurid dynasty. Babur, the founder of Moghul dynasty, was the grandson of Yunus Khan or son of his daughter who was married to Mirzo Ulugbek of Timurid dynasty.
In 1571, the upper parts of the Mausoleum were completely ruined by an earthquake. The upper parts of the Mausoleum restored after fourteen years while the dome of the Mausoleum was restored in 1970.
Yunus-khan Mausoleum is located near to the Mausoleum of Sheikh Havendi at-Takhur on the Navoi Avenue.
