The State Museum Of Applied Art of Tashkent has led the foundation in 1937 for a temporary purpose to exhibit handicrafts. Now the museum contains around 4000 exhibits on the decorative art of Uzbek History. The building was restored multiple times in 1941 and 1961. In 1970, the museum building underwent reconstruction. In 1960, the State Museum Of Applied Art In Tashkents received the name of the “Permanent Exhibition of Applied Arts of Uzbekistan.” The museum was transferred to the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan under the ministry the museum received the status of State Museum Of Applied Art In Tashkents.
