Overview About Kok Gumbaz Mosque :

Famous as Blue Dome, which can be translated to Kok Gumbaz Mosque, is one of the Shakhrisabz Attractions. Kok Gumbaz Mosque is the largest Friday Mosque in Shakhirasabaz built in between 1435 and 1436. History Of Kok Gumbaz Mosque :

Kok Gumbaz Mosque was built by Ulugbek, the grandson of Amir Timur in honour of his father Shah Rukh in between 1435 and 1436. Ulug Beg made it as Shakhrisabz's Jummi Mosque and this is the centre of the Dorut Tilovat Architecture Complex. Around the tholobate of the dome, the inscription can be seen written as Sovereignty belongs to Allah, wealth belongs to Allah. Mirzo Ulugbek was also the world wide famous as an astronomer and a statesman.

Once the dome was larger than the domes of Bibi Khanym mosque in Samarkand and the original dome has collapsed during 18th century and renovated 200 years later.

Kok Gumbaz Mosque Design and Architecture :

This Uzbekistan Architecture was the style of the 15th century structure. In the laying of the building, burnt and white bricks were used. On the top of the laying, there are patterned tiles of majolica with blue glaze can be seen. Ornaments and murals were decorated with white, blue flowers, as well as calm and warm colours.
