Transportation By Air : Going through the flight is the most comfortable and convenient way to Khiva. But the distance between Urgench Airport, the nearest airport and Khiva city is 40 kilometre. One can buy Air tickets in Tashkent at the Uzbek Air office by paying in US dollars or Uzbek som.
The one-way flight ticket costs around US$75. To reach the Urgench Airport from Tashkent, it takes one and half hours. After reaching Urgench Airport, one can take taxi for Khiva Tours and it costs around about 60 000 som.
From Moscow, one can fly five times in a week on Ural Airlines to the Urgench Airport via Domodedovo International Airport, as Uzbekistan Airways also fly for the Moscow (VKO) and St.Petersburg.
Transportation By Train : Trains from Tashkent city serves as a regular medium for Khiva Transfers & Ground Transport for Urgench Railway station more than 16 hours in a day.

The direct train services are also available for both Urgench and Tortkol to Saratov and Volgograd in Russia. There is a new Khiva railway station has opened from June 2019 where a train goes to Bukhara and travelled three times a week at 8.57 AM which costs 80.000 som per person.
Transportation By Bus : For the economical way, transportation by bus is best for Khiva Transfers & Ground Transport where one can reach Urgench from Hippodrome station of Tashkent. Khiva Transportation through the bus is the better than the train as it takes less time than the train to reach Urgench and costs around 7000 Som.
There are also new Japanese vans which leave the Hippodrome in Tashkent for the journey to Urgench. Without having specific time schedule, it starts journey to Urgench in between 4 to 6 PM.
According to the local time, one has to leave in mid-morning and others in the evening. A seat costs around US$10.
Transportation By Car : Travelling through the sharing car between Tashkent and Urgench may be economical as the seat costs around US$15 for a seat in a four shared taxi. But in case of booked private taxi can cost you around US$50 which is little bit expensive.
Travelling by Car is the best, if you have to travel from Bukhara to Khiva or vice-versa as the car service in between Bukhara and Khiva. The car also can be arranged through hotels or Restaurants but from the budgetary point of view, taxi drivers at the Caravan bazaar in Bukhara or the Bakcha Darvasa in Khiva are the best option.

There is nothing as per law in Uzbek that a woman must wear, so you can bring your clothes that you love to wear. However, the country has its own culture and we believe you won’t like to offend it.
