As the main part of Hast Imam Complex, Khazrati Imam Mausoleum is a sacred place as it was built to honour the famous scientist, expert and scholar of Islam Khazrati Imam.
Khazrati Imam was born in 903, in Madina ash Shash (former name of Tashkent) in a family of a kaffal (crafts man to make door lock). With an expertise in Koran, Hadith, Islamic Law and lexicology, Khajrati Imam was famous for being is a talented poet, mystic and theologian. He died in between 976 and 977, according to the historian and anthropologists. During the16th century under the reign of Sheybani dynasty, a mausoleum was built over the tomb of Khajrati Imam, which was the main centre of worship in the city at that time.
After the half period of 16th century, Barakh Khan madrasah, two tombs one was of Suyunji Khan, were added in the complex with the mausoleum in the complex. A new mausoleum was erected over the grave of Sheikh Babakhoji, in 1579, in the same ensemble whereas the Namazgoch Mosque built in 1965 turned into Islamic Institute.
