Hazrat Imam Complex is also known as Hast Imam Square is a religious and spiritual center of Tashkent. Hast Imam also considered as the heart of the Muslim Tashkent. Hazrat Imam is located in the old town. Hast Imam Complex is within neighborhoods of daub houses that have experienced an earthquake of 1966.

The complex is situated near to the tomb of one of the first imams of Tashkent. The imam was a famous scientist, a scholar of the Quran and Hadiths. He was a poet and craftsman. He was identified by the name of Hazrati Imam, his full was Abu-Bakr Muhammad Kaffal Shashi.

There are few architectural monuments on the Hast-Imam’s territory. The monuments are madrasah of Barak-Khan, Tillya Sheikh Mosque, the tomb of Holy Saint Abu Bakr Kaffal Shashi and also the Islamic Institute named after Imam al-Bukhari, where future preachers and scholars are taught. The religious Administration of the Muslims of Central Asia is led by the Mufti (jurist who interpret Muslim religious laws), is also placed there.

In 2007, the new building of the Mosque Hazrat Imam has been constructed. The mosque structure consists of the mosque with two minarets (slender towers of the mosque with a balcony). The style of architecture is kept that of the 16th-century style.

During different seasons such as spring, summer, and autumn, beautiful birds and storks freely walk there. Special lighting of the buildings in night-time causes a feeling of presence in the ancient world of the oriental tales.
