Dorus-Saodat Mausoleum Complex means House of Power or the savior of power repository. This intended complex was built for Timurid dynasty by the order of Amir Timur in Shakhrisabz, the home of his ancestors. Placed as one of the major Shakhrisabz Attractions, Dorus-Saodat Mausoleum Complex is the burial place of the ruling family, comprises of a prayer hall, a mosque, and has accommodations for the pilgrims. Located in south-west territory of Shakhrisabz, the Mausoleum Complex is one of the most famous monuments to visit on Uzbekistan Tours.
Dorus-Saodat Mausoleum Complex was built by Anir Timur when his eldest and beloved son Jahongir died suddenly in 1376 at the age of 22 years. The construction work of Dorus-Saodat Mausoleum begun at 1380 the dead body of Jahongir brought from Samarkand to Shakhrisabz in 1379. With an adjoining madrassah, a mausoleum was erected over the graveyard of his beloved son.
In the time between1393 and 1394, Omar Sheikh, the second son of Amir Temur get killed during the seige of the Kurd fortress in Iran. His body was also buried under Omar Sheikh Mausoleum in Dorus-Saodat Mausoleum Complex.
But, in the second half of 16th century, Dorus-Saodat Mausoleum Complex was destroyed except by the order of Abdullakhan II, Sheybanid ruler.
Initially Dorus Saodat madrasah was built for the purpose of teaching and learning, not for the religious and spiritual performances. But, there was a mosque in the place of Dorus Saodat madrasah where the religious performances were done.
Work on Dorus-Saodat Mausoleum Complex reflects the work of best Uzbekistan Architecture by Khorezm artisans. The height of outer dome of Dorus-Saodat is 27 metre while there was a portal on the front arch. In Uzbekistan Tours, you can see the colourful patterns, epigraphic or the inscriptions written around the frontal part of the building.
The facade of the building is joined with the majolica varieties of colour while most of the part was coloured by blue colour. Except blue, other colours reflects the background by creating a beautiful artistic image. The massive front door was covered by the tiles with ornaments of gold and azure.
Inside of the courtyard there were rooms, where some madasah and buildings were built for the servants and the members. In the centre a flowering garden with fountains and iwans can be found.

As one of the Shakhirasabz Attractions, Dorus-Saodat Mausoleum Complex also has the crypt of Amir Temur decorated by the light gray marble limestone can be found on its walls, floors, arches and dome structures. A giant marble sarcophagus can be found in the centre covered with the monolithic slab.
