History Of Botanical Garden In Tashkent :

Located in the northeast part of Tashkent, Botanic Garden in Tashkent is known as the oldest botanical gardens in Uzbekistan. Founded in 1920, Founded in 1920, the garden name was the Botanical Gardens of Academy of Sciences. The rebuilding the modern shape of this garden was started in the 50s under the guidance of Academician Fedor Nikolaevich Rusanov.

The collection of preserved plant specimens or the herbarium constitutes more than one million herbarium sheets covering 172 plant species families, which is divided into four sections. These are: Central Asian herbarium, and General herbarium having 100 thousand sheets, authentic herbarium with 2000 sheets, 1400 plant species of collection exchange and herborised materials.
