Al-Hakim At-Termizi Mausoleum was built in the honor of Khoja Abu Isa Muhammad Imam Termezi, the prophet who contributes the collection of 30 years in the Islamic world to the Hadith, the holiest book after Qu'ran. He was also the scholar of the 9th century and founder of the dervish order "Hakimia", one of the twelve sects of mysticism.
He died at the age of 115 years in 932 and was buried near the citadel of medieval Termez. Al-Hakim At-Termizi Mausoleum in Termez reflects the religious-philosophical works of an outstanding theorist of Islamic mysticism and the great prophet.
A small Mausoleum of Hakim at-Termizi was built of baked brick on the grave and had one chamber with a portal dome. In 1389- 1390, a new small mausoleum was built as per the inscription of the portal and was the east of the ancient tomb. During the 14th century, a new mausoleum was built next to the façade of the old one under the reign of Amir Temur's empire. The grave of Al-Hakim at-Termiziy, the great saint was covered by a magnificent white marble gravestone sagana during this time.
During 1405-1409, the largest building complex was built on the east-west side of the mausoleum by Khalil Sultan, the grandson of Amir Temur.
In Al-Hakim At-Termizi Mausoleum, the gravestone of a great saint is a magnificent white marble that can be found and this is the masterpiece of decorative stone carving art in the early 15th century.
